Refugee Journalism Project: Liminality

Curator of public exhibition
2019

I curated an exhibition of mixed media works to mark the culmination of the Refugee Journalism Project programme. The participants of the project were journalists & writers, so curatorial responsibilities involved working with them to develop visual projects from concept to installation, develop strategies of display, as well as curating the exhibition space with the resultant mixed media works, videos, photography & text.

The Refugee Journalism Project supports refugee & exiled journalists to re-start their careers in the UK. Led by Vivienne Francis & Veronica Otero, the project offers mentoring & placements to journalists who  have an impressive range of skills – many have been editors, correspondents and producers in their own countries – but lack agency in the UK, facing significant barriers when attempting to continue their journalism.
